The Author

Tom McMorrow is one of the few writers who can claim to have been both a sports editor and a drama critic.  He started as a sportswriter on the Washington Daily News, and after serving in the battles of Normandy and Northern France in World War II he was an actor and summer stock producer before joining the theatrical newsreel Movietone News, where he was the sports editor and a sports documentary director. After the demise of the newsreels he spent 23 years at the New York Daily News as a reporter, copy editor, feature writer, and theater critic, and was president of The Drama Desk, the association of New York theater critics, writers and editors.

He has written fiction and articles for magazines ranging from the Saturday Evening Post to Argosy, True, Fantasy & Science Fiction and a dozen others.

He has been compiling this collection for more than 30 years.
