As a lover of the English language, I've never found a tome that made me think, chuckle, comtemplate and giggle as much as Tom's. I keep my copy next to my bed for those late night visits to "word land." Joseph B. Wills Fri, 04 Apr 2008 15:47:07 On the website TheaterLife.com I read theater stories from "Words of Wit and Wisdom," and when I went to this site I saw an impressive 14 quotations on a single page, ranging from the Bible and the Bard to Abraham Lincoln, Charles Dickens, the modern novelist Alan Furst and the New York Times. But what makes the book so readable is the breezy, entertaining style in which all this is preented - as the author says, yes, with occasional attitude. It would be a shame if it is not published.
